We at Skärfva, Cecilia and Thomas Skröder with family and all people working with us, wish you a warm welcome. Here many generations before us have welcomed visitors. In 2003 Cecilia and her family celebrated their 140th jubilee at Skärfva, a home that since 1863 has been the summer paradise of the Wachtmeister family, a place out of town where they year after year returned to find peace and companionship and where larks and laughter echoed in a captivating environment. Hospitality, culture and joy have been the distinguishing marks. After many years' of torpor, Skärfva is once again awakening to take its place in a new world. When we arrived in Blekinge in 1989 to live at Skärfva all the year around, it was clear to us that the place must be revived and also live with its time. Many people wonder if we now intend to recreate the once-upon-a-time Skärfva. Our answer is then yes, that we want to do, but a Skärfva of today. To recreate what has been is impossible. Now we awaken Skärfva and create a place for meetings, creativity, enjoyments and - not least - repose for everyone. The need for an alternative to today's society is all the more evident. Human contact, spontaneity and creativity are not encouraged by the everyday life of most people. We need to get in contact with what we call the soft values. That is what we are creating together with you at Skärfva.
